REGULATORY AFFAIRS UNIT HEAD - (200000TL)
Description
 
1. Design regulatory compliance awareness programs and develop appropriate training materials to ensure spreading regulatory control culture across the bank. 
2. Supervise the team in effectively reflecting regulatory mandates within business processes and operations to ensure alignment. 
3. Review new Retail and Corporate products proposals from compliance perspective against local regulatory requirements and provide regulatory compliance feedback by providing the Regulatory Affairs Head with a report on these requirements. 
4. Ensure that the business address concerns raised by the Regulator and deliver on commitments made to the Regulator in a timely manner and of high quality by assisting the business in drafting the correspondence. 
5. Support and assist the business to apply any Regulatory Change within its processes. 
6. Review the identified business impact for new regulatory requirements\issues and escalate upwards as necessary to ensure alignment. 
7. Ensure the implementation of the contact with regulators discipline between the business and the regulators. 
8. Prepare the regulatory affairs input within Non- Financial Risk & Compliance Committee (NFRCC) pack as well as Board Audit Committee (BAC) pack, by providing a brief about the new regulations and its requirements. 
9. Ensure the proper circulation of received CBE circulars among relevant stakeholders and lines of business, and ensure full collaboration with business to develop compliant and low risk alternatives where regulatory restrictions impose limitations or constraints. 
 10. Ensure maintaining a formal record of minutes of all meetings held by the regulatory affairs team or business with the Regulator and develop a process of recording all verbal communication made with the regulator in any form (phone calls, emails) 
11. Ensure the effective management of regulatory relationships by the Regulatory Affairs team. 12. Report compliance matters that may pose financial or reputational risks for the business to the Regulatory Affairs Head & Head of Regulatory Compliance. Supervision 
13. Supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in compliance with the set policies, processes and procedures Strategy 
14. Participate in the formulation and implementation of the Regulatory Compliance Department strategy to ensure the alignment with CIB strategy. Policies, Processes and Procedures 
15. Implement approved department policies, processes, and procedures and monitor adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner. Day-to-day operations 
16. Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the Regulatory Affairs Unit to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures . 
Compliance 
17. Ensure compliance with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal CIB policies and code of conduct in order to maintain CIB’s sound legal position and mitigate any potential risks. 
 
 
Qualifications
 
Qualifications & Experience 
- Bachelor’s degree of Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting or its equivalent 
-10-14 years of experience in Banking; of which at least 8 years of experience in managerial position in Regulatory Affairs/ Compliance/Audit/Risk. 
- Good knowledge of banking products /services
-Subject Matter Expert (SME) in understanding CBE regulations  
-Solid understanding of Internal bank’s processes of the bank 
 
Skills 
-Excellent command of English & Arabic languages 
-Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with senior internal and external stakeholders 
-Very well versed in local regulations and laws. 
-Proficiency in the presentation of reports and PowerPoint presentation.
